Description

Most elevator rescue classes are based on securing the car and removing occupants via the elevator car door....but what if that isn't an option? Although uncommon, are you prepared to conduct rescues via the elevator car top? This 8-hour workshop focuses on the next steps of elevator rescue. Topics include a brief review of basic elevator operations, elevator rescue best practices, and rope systems for use in hoist-way rescues. Students will then participate in several car top rescue scenarios involving various types of ladder access, rope access, conscious patients, and unconscious patients.

Pre-requisite knowldege: basic knot craft, basic rappel, lowering systems, hauling systems, patient pick-off and basic patient packaging.

Pre-requisite Courses: Rope Rescue Awareness and Rope Rescue Operations, or Rope Rescue 1 and 2.
