Public Safety Training Center

This intensive Train-the-Trainer course was developed to prepare current PA State Fire Academy instructors to teach the revised PSFA curriculum preparing students for national certification for Rope Rescue A/O/T (NFPA 1006).  This course will be physically demanding since all participants in the Train-the-Trainer are required to perform 100% of the skills associated with the PSFA rope rescue programs.

Pre-requisites include:

·         Pro-board/IFSAC NFPA 1006 Rope Rescue A/O/T or equivalent.

·         Sponsorship by an ETA, or emergency service provider to attend the course and be covered by appropriate workmen’s compensation insurance.

·         Sponsorship by the ETA will also include an affidavit from the ETA stating that the instructor has a proven record of proficiency within the rope rescue discipline and is familiar with modern rope rescue technologies and techniques.

Equipment: Instructors are permitted to bring their own equipment, or equipment from their sponsoring ETA, but all equipment is subject to the inspection of LCPSTC rope instructors for approved use. Equipment to complete the skills is provided in the class, but personal equipment, such as harnesses and helmets, is limited so participants are encouraged to bring their own.
