| Description | Emergency Medical Responder (Blended):
Emergency Medical Responders (EMR) provide immediate lifesaving care to critical patients who access the emergency medical services system. EMRs have the knowledge and skills necessary to provide immediate lifesaving interventions while awaiting additional EMS resources to arrive. EMRs also provide assistance to higher-level personnel at the scene of emergencies and during transport. EMRs are a vital part of the comprehensive EMS response. Under medical oversight, EMRs perform basic interventions with minimal equipment. This course delivery method combines an online student learning platform with practical hands on training. Students will be given access to an online virtual, educational enviroment complete with instructor narrated presentations, quizes and communication platforms to certified instructors in which to learn. Schedules will be set to include a practical skills learning and demonstration events. Practical skills days will include a standard in person classroom with certified instructor(s) to help students learn and apply the practical EMS skills components of this pre-hospital healthcare level. |
