Firefighter 1 Certification Test - NFPA 1010

The purpose of this program is to identify emergency service personnel who demonstrate competency in the performance requirements necessary to perform the duties of a firefighter. The NFPA 1010 Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications identifies the minimum requirements for a person at the first level of progression. A person certified at the Fire Fighter I level will have demonstrated competency in the necessary knowledge and skills, while working under direct supervision, to function safely and effectively as a member of a firefighting team. Course Prerequistes: Fire Ground Support Personnel NFPA 1010 certification, Hazardous Materials Operations (current) or Hazardous Materials Operations Referesher (current), First Aid (current), CPR (current) and PA State Fire Academy Firefighter I Application.

Required Equipment: State issued Photo ID, Structural Firefighter PPE, SCBA, Spare cylinder, Eye protection, Hearing protection
