Description

This two day program will introduce rescuers to the core elements and hazards associated with rescues on tower structures. This program consists of both classroom and practical instruction focused on operational level rescues of tower structures not more than 300 feet. Topics covered include: tower types and purposes; hazards associated with tower structures; RF hazards; tower climbing techniques; and an introduction to basic tower rescue techniques.

 

The majority of this course will be held off-site and without shelter/facilities. All students will need to ascend a tower structure to successfully complete this class to a height of at least 60'.

 

This program is heavily dependent on weather. This course can continue through light rain conditions however it cannot be conducted during heavy rain and/or thunderstorms. Instructors will closely monitor the weather forecasts as the class approaches. If the course needs to be cancelled due to weather, instructors will make a final determination no later than three days prior.

Pre-requisites: Rope 4, or NFPA 1006 Rope Rescue Technician Certification
