Description | Emergency Medical Technician (Blended)
The EMT program is conducted in a blended training format with online, instructor-lead lecture presentations, homework assignments, group projects, skills application, and formal written testing processes in place. The program is a total of 208 hours, with some of the curriculum hours delivered via an online, virtual classroom platform. Students will be responsible to complete the online learning portions within a time frame explained on the course syllabus. Online learning is at the students own pace with completion criteria in place. Students will then meet at a physical location with instructors to further learn and apply the skills taught in the online platform. Virtual learning enviroment will include instructor narrated presentations, quizes, additional learning support activities and a communication platform to contact a certified instructor.
The intent of the program is to establish a baseline knowledge of the program material as well as prepare the candidate to successfully pass the National Registry testing process for EMT. The Lancaster County Public Safety Center works closely with industry leaders from around the area to assist with job placement following the completion of the program and provides information on various volunteer opportunities throughout the Lancaster County area. |
