Description | Rigging refers to the planned movement of objects using special gear such as slings, shackles, & hooks. Many people use rigging but most use it without any form of training or an understanding of core rigging principles, risking catastrophic injury and damage. Concepts like working load limit, center of gravity, angular loading, intended rigging use, gear inspection, and safe work practices, are critical to personnel safety and a safe lift. This class will discuss these and may other topics in a format that mixes conversational learning, demonstration, & hands-on activity. Students will receive a course manual and riggers reference card.
